Sometimes it amazes me at the size of some of the applications we use today. I don’t think of it quite as much now as I used to, since I have fibre optics to my house and 200 Mbit+ download speeds.  But, think about it for a second.

I mean, these are just download sizes of a few apps from the Mac App Store:

iMovie 1.94 GB

iPhoto 1.15 Gb

And even when we download something ‘simple’ like Google Chrome for OSX, look at the size of that:

154 Mb … for a browser.

So what’s my message?  Simply think about these sorts of things if you’re a developer, or a tester, or someone that produces documentation. Sometimes less, is more!
