file0002071608742A few days ago I was doing some testing with various builds of the Enterprise Vault Outlook Add-in, and it struck me that sometimes the build numbering is just a bit confusing.

It’s tricky to know whether you’re using the release from a service pack, or a hotfix, or a roll-up or whatever. ┬áIt is even harder when you’re doing this across three different (similar) workstations in order to compare behaviour.

So, to help, you can either look at the version number of Valkyrie.dll, or look in the client log file for an entry like this:

26/06/2013 07:02:45.365[2276][H]: Environment:
26/06/2013 07:02:45.366[2276][H]: Enterprise Vault Client 10.0.3.1189 (Full functionality enabled)

The build numbers I’ve been using are as follows: Base 10.0.3 Release: 10.0.3.1090 10.0.3 Cumulative Hotfix 1: 10.0.3.1169 10.0.3 Cumulative Hotfix 2: 10.0.3.1189

  1. Is the latest Outlook add-in client (for v10.0.3) backward compatible with EV 9.0.4?
I couldnt find it in the compatibility chart and I would like to deploy this before my upgrade.

  2. Cool, thanks Rob.
