A little while ago I reported that I had uninstalled the VoodooHDA (aka Audio) Kext from my Hackintosh because I believed it was casusing kernel panics.  I also reported it in the thread belonging to the creator of the instructions.  He and I have worked on the issue over the last week, and the great news is we’ve resolved it.

It turns out that the VoodooHDA kext was the wrong version, and rather than just replace it with the one that the author new worked from over a year of use on his own system, he searched for a newer one, and tested it.  I can also report that I tested it yesterday and most of today, doing over half a dozen system restarts, and everything is just fine.

Working this way, across the world, to solve a problem is one of the coolest things about our modern lives… and it was a real pleasure to get to the bottom of the issue.
