Outlook can be configured to use RMS on messages, meaning that the recipient can’t print or forward the message (for example). Enterprise Vault can archive these items, and here is how they look from the client machine :
Here is a regular message, not archived, that is protected by my Windows Live ID:
When you double click on that item to open it, you will see :

The only less-than-ideal experience is when an item is pending archive:
Double clicking on that item renders just the shortcut, which contains the same text and attachments as you see in the screenshot above. It’s hard for an end user to see that item, as you need to jump through all the hoops in the message… or wait for the item to become post-processed in to a proper shortcut.
