A question that arose the other day is :

 

Where does Outlook store it’s list of PST files that are attached to Outlook?

 

Well the answer, of course, is in the registry.  The “problem” is that it’s not easy to find.  If you scroll through the entries under :

 

HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindows NTCurrentVersionWindows Messaging SubsystemProfiles<name of profile>

 

you will see some of the entries have a 001f3001 entry.  Double click on that and one or more of the ones you find will show that it’s a PST File entry.  In that same key you’ll see 001f6700 which is the Unicode name of the PST, ie the path).
