One of the other great SysInternals tools is called PSFile.  You can download it from :

Contained in the same file are a bunch of the SysInternals tools – the download is only 1.6 Mb though, so it won’t take too long.

I tried it out between two of my machines :

C:robfilesSysInternalsPsTools>psfile

No files opened remotely on GPKQA4-7.

That’s good, I didn’t have any files open!

     User: ADMINISTRATOR

     Locks: 0

     Access: Read

This shows that I have the file c:ben-owa1.txt open remotely.   You can use the ID (eg 80227) to close a specific file as well, if you need to.
